2. Kaya's Constellation

My roommate (and best friend) really wanted to hang her new star lights by her bed. Unfortunately, the wall space surrounding here bed isn't the best.... so I got creative and tried to make it work. Alas, here you are looking at the Kaya Constellation, created by yours truly. It's not perfect, but now we both smile and giggle when we see it and say, "look at that special constellation."

I was born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida but was raised in Nassau, Bahamas (a beautiful island that is 21 miles long and about 7 miles wide). This February, my parents will have lived in The Bahamas for 25 years. The best parts about living there is everything, and the worst part is getting such random, odd questions when explaining where I'm from to someone. I've got some weird questions over the years. One of my personal favorites is, "Are there real houses there or do you live in villas or shacks."  While I went back and forth on several ideas for my self-portrait, I thought this would be most fitting since it really does represent such a strong part of me as a person. 16. Palm tree doodle

Here's my doodle from class today. I've always loved drawing palm trees. This one isn't my best but it makes me happy because it feels real. Except..... where are the coconuts? I was craving my homemade coconut chips the entire class!!
